FREE Legal Helpline for Visionary members
Working closely with the charities and social business team atRussell-Cooke LLP,Visionary is now able to offer full members (local sight loss charities) access to a free and confidential Legal Helpline which we will be piloting for the next sixmonths.
The Helpline, staffed by the experienced team at Russell-Cooke, can provide assistance on helping members identify areas where further work or professional advice may be required e.g. employment law, property issues, and governance/constitutional issues.
For example, a member dealing with a redundancy issue recently was supported to identify that they needed formal HR advice to deal with the situation appropriately. Another member was able to identify issues requiring formal legal advice when looking to change their legal structure (charity/limited company status).
Where formal legal advice is suggested you may be referred to a lawyer at Russell-Cooke. However, you are under no obligation to use Russell-Cooke for further formal legal advice and can, of course, source your own legal advice at anytime.
How to access the Helpline – 020 3826 7538
Helpline calls can last a maximum of 15 minutes, per single issue. If you have more than one issue then you would need to make another call.
The Helpline is open to take calls between 9.30am and 5.00pm on all weekdays, except bank holidays, though an immediate response cannot always be guaranteed and you might receive a ring back at a later time.
Calls to the Helpline will be charged at your providers’ standard geographic rate.

By contacting the Helpline you accept the terms and conditions of use which can be foundhereon the Visionary website and must be read before you contact the Helpline.
Monitoring and evaluation
Visionary and Russell-Cooke will monitor the use of the Helpline to ensure fair and proportionate use and we will be jointly assessing the demand and effectiveness of this at the end of the six month pilot.
The Helpline is confidential. Details of those calling the Helpline or the specific issues discussed will not be shared with Visionary staff.
