VI Charity Sector Partnership Showcase
The VI Charity Sector Partnership is the legacy of the collaboration formed in response to the pandemic. Eight of the leading charities in the visual impairment sector formed the VI Charity Sector Partnership: Blind Veterans UK, Glaucoma UK, Guide Dogs, Macular Society, Retina UK, RNIB, Thomas Pocklington Trust and Visionary. The purpose of the partnership is to provide strategic overview of initiatives that will lead to improving the lives of blind and partially sighted people and those at risk of sight loss across the UK. 2021 to 2022 was the first full year of business with the seven shared workstreams of activity hosting workshops at last year’s virtual Visionary Conference.
As part of the opening session on Thursday 29 September, we are delighted to be hosting the VI Charity Sector Partnership Showcase. This one hour session will focus on this business year’s collaborative activity and demonstrate how local organisations play an important and influential role. The session will talk briefly about the Lived Experience and Talent Development, Access to Technology and Mental Health and Wellbeing workstreams. You will hear from Visionary members involved in each workstream, the subject matter leads of and explore how you can contribute to each of the workstreams.
Fiona Sandford, CEO of Visionary will introduce the session and set the scene, Matt Stringer CEO of RNIB will chair the session. Fiona and Matt will facilitate a Q&A session, giving you the opportunity to find out more about the workstreams can benefit blind and partially people in your community.
