Suffolk Sight is a local, community-based sight loss charity supporting children and adults of all ages. We work hard to provide services that are friendly and practical, and to raise awareness of the different aspects of living with sight loss.
We are seeking a Technology Advisor to join our team.
The role plays a key part in the charity, supporting the beneficiaries to ensure they have access to appropriate advice, information, equipment, and support to help them live independently and its main areas of focus are:
- Introducing individuals to assistive technology and supporting them to get online, connect with family/friends, access volunteering/employment opportunities and live more independently.
- Conducting assessments in Northeast Suffolk and across the county in the community, in individual’s homes and within Suffolk Sight offices/resource centres for the visually impaired members of Suffolk Sight.
- Providing learning support to beneficiaries around digital magnification, smart speakers, PCs, tablets, phones, apps and accessibility software.
This is a great opportunity for someone with good experience of assistive technology for the visually-impaired, combined with a positive and outgoing attitude and a confident approach to guiding and supporting others.
If you want to work in an atmosphere of mutual support and cooperation, within a happy and supportive environment with a flexible employer then please apply.
