Peer Support Services Coordinator
Closing date: Friday 08 July 2022
Location: North Somerset
Hours: 28 hours per week
Salary: £23,700 per annum pro rata
Contract: Permanant
Interview date: Week commencing 11 July 2022
About the role
You would lead Vision North Somerset’s peer support services for people who are visually impaired. This will involve training and managing a small team of existing and new volunteers to effectively deliver services reducing social isolation and improving wellbeing.
Our Peer Support services currently include several telephone support groups, a small telephone and/or in-person befriending service and several face-to-face social groups around the county. We are particularly looking to grow and develop our social/ support groups into new areas and grow the befriending service, developing service parameters based on best practice.
About you
You will be a caring, well organised person with the ability to develop and grow a team of volunteers in various service models. You will work closely with the CEO, other staff and local partners to plan and prioritise work developing and growing our peer support services.
This is an ideal opportunity for the right person to land a flexible, part-time, rewarding role in the charity sector. You might be looking to move up from an entry-level position in the charity sector, to get back to work after a gap or move to work locally in North Somerset rather than needing to commute.
While professional peer support, service delivery or volunteer management experience would be extremely helpful, we are open to candidates with transferable experience. We will provide training and induction as needed – you would need to be proactive, quick to learn and implement your knowledge.
