A rare opportunity has arisen for a motivated and positive person to join Open Sight Hampshire, the County’s largest charitable organisation working with and supporting blind and partially sighted people. Based in Eastleigh, Open Sight Hampshire has provided uninterrupted support to the visually impaired community of Hampshire since 1922.
The multi-faceted role of Independent Living Advisorinvolves providing an empathetic approach and positive attitude when assisting clients to access relevant information, advice, guidance, aids and equipment to help them in their daily lives. Managing the Equipment Room at Head Office, dealing with sales over the phone, the internet and in person, organising Equipment Exhibitions and hosting Open Sight Hampshire Information sessions make up some of the elements of this very engaging and highly rewarding person-centred role.
The recruitment and administration of new and existing Volunteers who support the Charity is another key part of the role.
A minimum education to GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths is desired. Experience in dealing with clients, possibly in a retail or similar environment, could be beneficial. Relevant training provided.
Must be 18yrs+. The role requires some travel throughout Hampshire so the applicant will need to hold a full UK driving license and have a car. Successful applicants are required to undertake a Basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
