Contract: Fixed term

We’re offering a unique internship for a blind or partially sighted individual to join our team and help amplify Beacon’s story across social media, marketing, and media platforms.

As we approach our 150th anniversary, this role is pivotal in sharing the stories of those we’ve supported over the years. You’ll be instrumental in crafting and conveying our message in an accessible and engaging way, ensuring that our communications resonate with everyone.

This is an opportunity to not only enhance your communication skills but also to shape the narrative of an organisation dedicated to making a difference. Whether through social media, marketing materials, or media outreach, you’ll help us celebrate our rich history and future aspirations in a way that is accessible for people with sight loss but also helps us reach a broad audience.

Additionally, you’ll have the chance to participate in our fundraising activities, further connecting with our mission.

No prior experience is necessary, you just need to demonstrate a passion for storytelling in an accessible format, a strong interest in social media, and a desire to learn.

If you’re organised, adaptable, passionate and ready to start a career in communications, we want to hear from you!

This position has a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the successful applicant to be blind or partially sighted, in line with The Equality Act 2010.
