MySight York are the latest Visionary member to be awarded RNIB’s Visibly Better Employer accreditation – Congratulations to everyone involved!

Scott Jobson, CEO at MySight York, said:

"I am absolutely thrilled to share some fabulous news today that our organisation MySight York has been awarded RNIB’s Visibly Better Employer Standard.  Being awarded certification means our recruitment and retention practices ensure we have an accessible and inclusive environment for people with sight loss.  By prioritising accessibility and providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, here at MySight York we have an environment where individuals with sight loss can thrive...and I am very proud of that."

RNIB continually campaigns to change the attitudes of employers, encouraging organisations to be more positive about employing blind and partially sighted people. They have created the Visibly Better Employer Standard, enabling organisations to share their commitment as an accessible and inclusive employer. Organisations which have also received the accreditation include Visionary, Thomas Pocklington Trust, Vision Support Barrow and District and Berkshire Vision.

To find out more, Join Marie Clarkson, RNIB Employment Manager, at 9.30am on 6 July 2023 to hear more about the standard and how RNIB can support your organisation. Marie will be joined by Amy Pearman from Visionary and Claire Huddleston from Vision Support Barrow and District who will share their own experiences of becoming a Visibly Better Employer and the steps they took to achieve the quality standard.  You register for this session via this link Becoming a Visibly Better Employer – Zoom.
