Visionary welcomes new partner UK Association for Accessible Formats (UKAAF)
Published 30 November 2023
UK Association for Accessible Formats (UKAAF) is the industry association that sets standards and promotes best practice for accessible documents in the UK.
We are delighted to introduce one of Visionary’s newest partners, UKAAF who help businesses and organisations understand how to meet the needs of customers and clients with print impairments, and how to source and provide quality accessible documents. As part of their work, UKAAF publishes a wide range of standards, guidance and articles in support of alternative formats which can be found on the UKAAF website. “What 10 Things” (opens Office Form) is UKAAF’s latest promotion.
UKAAF is also the UK representative body for the International Council on English Braille (ICEB). ICEB holds the important responsibility for developing Unified English Braille (UEB), used in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Nigeria and South Africa. Other countries are considering joining ICEB.
UKAAF provided interviews for National Braille Week held in October:
- An interview with Fiona Sandford, CEO of Visionary – YouTube.
- A short recording with someone working to produce 3D photographs by using current technology – UKAAF.
- An interview with UKAAF Board member Helen Wilson about her work and interest in accessible documents – UKAAF.
UKAAF has various membership options. Please visit the UKAAF website to find out more.
If you would like to become involved with UKAAF, or discuss how by working together we can help to assist those you are supporting, do please email UKAAF.
