Sight Loss Charities’ collective offer to blind and partially sighted asylum seekers and refugees arriving in the UK
Visionary is proud to be part of the sight loss charities who have come together to provide a joined-up approach to blind and partially sighted asylum seekers and refugees arriving in the UK. We have also pledged to respond jointly to the displacement of people with vision impairment resulting from similar geopolitical events.
The sight loss charities who are part of the VI Charity Sector Partnership have drawn together a wider offer for all asylum seekers and refugees arriving in the UK (see below) which is an extension of the offer for blind and partially sighted Ukrainian’s’ arriving is the UK. This includes emotional support, equipment and support to access services. There is also support for those providing accommodation for asylum seekers and refugees including sight loss awareness e-learning.
VI Charity Sector Partnership members are Blind Veterans UK, Glaucoma UK, Guide Dogs, Macular Society, Retina UK, RNIB, Thomas Pocklington Trust and Visionary (a membership body representing 118 local sight loss charities throughout the UK).
