RNIB seeking blind and partially sighted people for activities

RNIB are keen to listen to blind and partially sighted adult’s experiences and have two activities available below. We’re asking Visionary members to share this with your networks with those who are aged 18 or over.
1) A special opportunity to help us create a better world for people with sight loss
RNIB are looking for adults with one or more eye conditions to complete our quarterly Connect Voices Tracker survey.
The latest survey is now out with a special focus on support after diagnosis. This month we’re exploring your experience of support you may have received (e.g. from a hospital eye clinic, optician, Social Services, a charity such as RNIB or Guide Dogs, or a local blind society). There will be some questions about the types of support you may have received and what additional support you think you could benefit from.
We will use what people tell us to help identify the key challenges people are experiencing, to improve the support we provide and direct work to influence society on issues that really matter to blind and partially sighted people.
This is a special opportunity and represents a significant development in our approach to putting the voice of people with sight loss at the centre of what we do, helping to shape and direct our work on an ongoing basis.

2) Would you describe yourself as an advanced technology user?
RNIB want to listen to the experience of blind and partially sighted adults who use technology e.g. AI, wearables, advancing apps and the Future of Technology. By sharing your experience, you can help RNIB to get a true understanding of how we can create solutions that will improve the daily lives of people with sight loss.
The discussion groups are online, via Teams for 2 hours 15 minutes. Don’t worry, we can dial you into the call if needed. Groups will take place on:
- Wednesday 12 July & 26 July 2023 at 10:00am – 12:15pm
- Thursday 10 & 24 August 2023 at 5:30pm – 7:45pm
- Monday 11 & 25 September 2023 at 2:00pm – 4:15pm
