Recipients of the award, the highest any local voluntary group can receive in the UK and equivalent to an MBE, was announced on the 14 November 2023 at The King’s Birthday.

Created in 2002 and previously known as The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the King’s Award has shone a light on the fantastic work of voluntary groups from all across the UK for many years.

This is fantastic recognition in Metro Blind Sport’s 50th year, and they thank their generous funders, partners and volunteers for all of their hard work and support to achieve this.
