Audio described short films – Green Space Dark Skies
Throughout this year, Walk the Plank have delivered 20 events across the UK and although they’ve now come to an end, we’re excited to announce the launch of our first collection of audio-described short films. Since Green Space Dark Skies was such a visual project we wanted to make sure blind and partially sighted people could also enjoy our short films and experience the beautiful UK landscape.
Thousands of people joined us as Lumenators, to create magical artworks using specially designed Geolights, a pioneering technology we designed with Siemens and Core Lighting.
All our events were completely free and held at secret locations all the way from Orkney to Dartmoor, the Giant’s Causeway to the Norfolk Broads, encouraging people to get outdoors, to explore the countryside and nature on their doorsteps, all whilst ensuring we left without a trace, respecting the landscapes that surround us.
Our films will form a digital archive for people to enjoy for years to come, alongside Green Space Stories, where we’re inviting everyone, not just Lumenators, to share their stories, photos and memories of their most favourite times in the great outdoors.
On 30 November 2022, we shared our playlist of audio described films on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The audio described playlist is now available on YouTube.
