Assistive technology training for the workplace
TAVIP is delighted to be able to offer a number of free training places to visually impaired people wanting to improve their tech skills in order to move into paid work.
TAVIP’s Technology for Work Training Course will provide up to 5 hours of free, one-to-one training in using screen reading software or magnification tools with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Powerpoint, Zoom and Teams, web browsers and smart phone apps.
The training will benefit people who already have good keyboard skills and who are on, or have recently completed, an employment programme covering CV preparation, interviews skills and job searching. The training will be provided by visually impaired trainers and in most cases will be delivered using Zoom.
TAVIP (The Technology Association of Visually Impaired People) is a member-led charity providing information, support and training on assistive technology to visually impaired people, with a particular emphasis on supporting people into work. People can often get training through Access to Work once they are in work, but can’t always get the tech training they need to get into work in the first place. TAVIP is aiming to bridge the gap and help people make the step into paid work.
