GDPR is the most significant change in data protection law in the last 20 years. Implementation is less than eight months away, however the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) is still working on some of the details. We know that many members are concerned about how to prepare for GDPR, the implications of not being compliant and that a whole industry has sprung up offering GDPR solutions. We are supporting Visionary members in several ways regarding GDPR:
- Visionary GDPR briefing will be published within the next couple of weeks.
- GDPR workshop at the Visionary Conference – led by sector experts Russell-Cooke.
- We have submitted a £60,000 funding application to the ICO to develop GDPR support specifically for the VI sector (commences late Nov 2017)
- If the funding bid is unsuccessful we will commission external GDPR expertise to develop guidance specifically for local sight loss organisations.
In the meantime – please do share with us any GDPR work you’ve undertaken or advice you have received as we are collating such information and we will share this across the Visionary network as appropriate.
