I’ve done a variety of jobs in my 24-year professional career, the clear majority of which has been in the charity sector. I’ve always had a focus on income and business development and ensuring that the resources required are there and are well used and make an impact for the people they are targeted at.
I lead Visionary’s work on supporting Visionary members to manage themselves well and to secure and manage the resources they require to be effective local sight loss organisations.
I work daily with Visionary members who are directly making a difference to blind and partially sighted people’s lives. It’s a privilege and I get a great sense of satisfaction from supporting and enabling Visionary members to go and support VI people.
What motivates me is the role that my skills and experience can play in supporting others to make a real difference to those they are wanting to help. That’s what Visionary is looking to do with our members.
I’m never happier than when I’m with my wife and children and when walking up a mountain. And I’m very blessed that my wife and kids enjoy both my company and the great outdoors.
