This bi-monthly forum is for anyone involved in delivering rehab services and whose organisation is part of the Visionary network.

The aim of the forum is to provide you with a space to regularly share new ideas and support each other through these difficult times. It is an opportunity for you to connect with other people working in rehab who are facing similar challenges to talk about real life practical solutions.

On 8 April 2025, we are delighted to be joined by special guest speaker, Jonathan Dixon, Director of Operations for Essex Sight. Essex Sight along with three other charities provide support for visually impaired people under the Essex Vision partnership and provide non-specialist assessment as part of the Essex County Sensory contract. The charity operated care homes for blind and partially sighted people for 122 years, selling its last one two years ago to concentrate on community support.

Essex Sight have noticed several clients who have gone into residential care whose sensory impairment is not taken into consideration and their basic needs not met e.g. contrasting toilet seat and grab rails or staff not aware of visual fields or hearing loss. We are trying to establish with the County Council how we can improve this situation, to ensure people with a sensory loss have parity of care at the end of their lives.

If you have previously registered for this forum, you will need to register again for this new cohort starting from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. Once you have registered for this new cohort, you will be able to join future sessions up until 31 March 2026 using your new registration details.
