Guide Dogs are looking for volunteers with lived experience of sight loss and are enthusiastic about campaigning, to become a member of our new England policy and campaigns Advisory Board.

A similar opportunity will be available in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland later in the year.

As an Advisory Board volunteer, you will have the opportunity to share your perspective and experiences of vision impairment, your priorities for Government, and your perspective on our campaigns, supporting the team’s ability to reflect the lived experience of sight loss within our work.

The role will require approximately 3 hours volunteering commitment every 3-months, made up of 4 board meetings spread throughout the year. There is no need to have used Guide Dogs services or have an in-depth knowledge of campaigning; anyone in England with lived experience of sight loss is welcome to apply.

Your time, knowledge and insights are greatly appreciated and will be instrumental in supporting us to achieve our goal of improving the lives of people with a vision impairment, ensuring everyone can live the life they choose.

To learn more about this volunteering position, or to find out how you can get involved in our campaigning, please contact Penny and Charlotte, our Lived Experience Officers by email at Guide Dogs.
