The Talking News Federation is a membership organisation that supports over 250 Local Talking Newspapers to deliver local news to those who cannot access the written word. Soundings is one branch of the organisation which provides national material for the TN’s to utilise. Soundings is run entirely by home-based volunteers who write, record, review and edit a weekly supply of content that is uploaded to our TNF Soundings website. We are seeking numerous volunteers for the below role so welcome applications.

Duties/ Responsibilities

The main purpose of this role is to act as a central point of contact for the volunteer team who contribute to the running of TNF Soundings. This includes:

• Acting as point of contact for volunteers who are offering ideas or content, or who have queries.
• Matching any text-only articles with a volunteer reader who will record the audio file and upload it ready for review/ publishing.
• Keeping in contact with contributors of regular features to ensure a forward supply of their material.
• Helping to build a team spirit among the community of Soundings contributors who all volunteer from homes spread across the UK. This will include helping to organise occasional zoom get togethers for the Soundings volunteers.
• Attending regular meetings,  with three other members of the Soundings core volunteer team, to contribute to the continued success of Soundings.
