Salary: £12 per hour £23,088 FTE

About Us

The Role

As a Community Information Officer, you will be the friendly, knowledgeable face of our charity, travelling across North Wales in our fully equipped mobile unit. You will be responsible for:

  • Raising Awareness: Promoting Vision Support and raising awareness of vision impairment at various locations.
  • Prevention: Giving information, advice and guidance on avoidable sight loss and the measures that can be taken to ensure good eye health.
  • Network and relationship building: Building positive relationships with Eye Clinics and Opticians.
  • Sharing Information: Distributing resources, answering questions, and offering advice about vision impairment and available services.
  • Signposting and Referrals: Referring individuals to Vision Support’s services or external organisations.
  • Database Maintenance: Updating our in-house CRM.
  • Key Performance Indicators: Work with the Halton Services Manager to reach agreed KPIs.
  • Content: Contribute to our social media platforms and newsletter.
  • Always Learning: Researching available services and support, keeping up to date records of what is available to our service users.
  • Representing the Charity: Being a warm, empathetic and professional ambassador.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a motivated, compassionate individual with:

  • Over 25 with a full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for community engagement and helping others.
  • The ability to work independently and adapt to varied environments.
  • IT skills to refer service users through our in-house CRM and manage personal details.
  • Variety of backgrounds considered
