Thomas Pocklington Trust is a national charity dedicated to delivering positive change for blind and partially sighted people.

You will support the Development Manager (Employment) and the Technology Officer in the delivery of a service to blind and partially sighted people seeking employment.

This  will involve promoting the benefits of assistive technologies to blind and partially sighted people and assist individuals to consider which technologies will best suit their needs.

As well as supporting blind and partially sighted people to find their local source of assistive technology support, and where appropriate signpost or make referrals.  You will also support the delivery of online training sessions.

You will need a passion for promoting the benefits of assistive technology to blind and partially sighted people.

Be confident and competent in using more than one type of assistive technology.

Be able communicate and explain assistive technology with energy and enthusiasm.

You will provide one to one support over the telephone, Teams or Zoom to allow people to gain a better understanding of their technology or in some circumstance support individuals face to face.

To be eligible for this Intern Programme you must have lived experience of sight loss. The programme runs for 9 months, where you will gain valuable work experience and training. You will also have access to a mentor and support to find permanent employment.
