Salary: £8,692.32 per annum

We are looking for a Children and Young People Enablement Officer based in the Manchester area
This is a unique opportunity to work with partially sighted and blind children children and young people, helping them to become more independent. Your role will be to support CYP through the program providing activities around building confidence and self esteem, cooking, social and interpersonal skills, daily living skills and transitions and planning for the future, all while having fun, making friends and trying new things.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Market and promote the I Can Do It! courses with families, CYP and professionals and establish partnerships to maximise referral routes.
- Recruit youngsters to take part in courses and activities and maintain a waiting list of referrals.
- Complete a baseline assessment and goal setting exercise (virtually or face to face) with CYP alongside parents prior to the start of their course to identify needs and areas for skill development.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience of working with and supporting children or young people aged 0 to 18 years or working with or supporting parents, families and carers including group activities and/or one to one activity.

Childcare qualification/ youth work/ teaching/ Rehab or habilitation qualification/ social care etc. or other qualification in relevant subject
- Awareness of issues relating to health and safety and ways to reduce risks when working children and young people.
