Sight Support Derbyshire is looking to recruit a well organised, qualified (or due to qualify in 2018) Rehabilitation Officer to be part of a dedicated team supporting the delivery of high quality services to blind and partially sighted people in Derbyshire.
Reporting to the Senior Rehabilitation Worker, you will need to be a ‘self-starter’ and able to work on your own initiative to ensure that the service runs smoothly and delivers the required outcomes. You will be allocated your own case load and will perform assessments of need and provide rehabilitation programmes for mobility, communication and independent living skills for visually impaired people throughout Derbyshire.
It is essential for this post that you are a qualified rehabilitation worker, holding one of the professional based qualifications available through national training establishments. (We will consider part time applicants who are currently studying for the qualification.) Extensive travel is an essential part of this role and as many areas in the county are hard to reach by public transport, access to a vehicle for work purposes will be needed.
We can offer you a challenging and rewarding environment, a competitive salary and pension and generous annual leave entitlement. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
There is some flexibility to split the 22.5 hours/3 days to meet applicants’ requirements e.g. childcare.
