In Development: an online Q & A tool for anyone affected by sight loss, to link to your website

Calling all Visionary members: would you like to contribute to a sector-wide question and answer tool that you can link to your charity’s website? People affected by sight loss consistently highlight easy access to information as an enabling factor to independent living and adapting to change. This project will pool information held by sight loss charities, and make it available through an online portal for anyone seeking information about sight loss.

The Q & A tool will work in a similar way to RNIB’s Ask RNIB (see but the content and branding will be relevant to the whole sector. Users will be able to use natural language to find answers about anything about sight loss, from the registration process, to useful technology, to information about benefits and concessions.

To make this a reality we are particularly keen that Visionary members take part in the development to give a variety of perspectives from local sight loss charities. We are looking for a strong coalition of organisations that see the value in such a tool working across the sector, and are willing to commit a modest amount of time to creating and maintaining clear and helpful answers to questions about sight loss, and suggestions for further sources of support.
