Support 4 Sight, A Light in the Dark

Our vision is an equal world without barriers for people with sight loss, but did you know that an estimated 50,000 or more people in Essex are living with sight loss? As the population is living longer, this number is expected to increase by almost 50% by the year 2030.

Support 4 Sight is hosting a Low Vision exhibition in Harlow Central Library, Cross Street, Harlow, CM20 1HA, on Thursday 25th May between 10am and 2:30pm. Suppliers of low vision aids will be attending with the local charity to offer information, advice and demonstrations of equipment.

Many of those with sight loss are not aware of the help and support that is available. Our mission is to support, empower and inspire people affected by sight loss and holding events such as this exhibition is a great opportunity.

We would like to invite anyone affected by sight loss including families, friends and carers, to come along to the exhibition. It will feature a huge range of low vision equipment, all of which can be tried at the event. Any questions you may have when receiving a demonstration can be asked directly to the experts, ensuring quick and accurate answers.

Exhibitors at the exhibition include Support 4 Sight, Guide Dogs, Optelec Services Ltd, DeafBlind UK, Essex Fire & Rescue, Harlow Talking News, OrCam, Pamtrad Ltd, Professional Vision Services and Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

Organiser of the exhibition, Paul Atkins of Support 4 Sight, said, “Losing your vision is extremely difficult to cope with and this exhibition is one of the ways we demonstrate that there is help available. The information, support, equipment and advice at this event will be extremely useful to anyone affected by sight loss, entry is free of charge and we urge you to join us on the day.”

Did you know that it is National Volunteer Week starting on Thursday 1st June? To help us celebrate this, why not get ahead of the game and join us at the Harlow Exhibition, to find out how you can get involved and support a local charity with the fantastic work they are doing. There are a number of opportunities you can be involved with. If you would like to make a difference and join our enthusiastic team, email Jane at This email address is being protected from spambots.
