We are delighted to announce that Sight Service have been awarded the Change 4 Life Quality Standard by South Tyneside Council. It is awarded to organisations that:

  • Empower people to take responsibility and become an expert intheir own health and wellbeing
  • Support people to make small sustainable lifestyle changes resulting in big improvements
  • Target prevention and early intervention to address health inequalities in South Tyneside
  • The council were impressed to see how Sight Service embrace and embed the health and well being agenda, not only for its clients but also its staff. We will be presented with an award at an event later next year

GDPR Updates and Support

Rehab working group

We are looking for members who can attend approximately 3 meetings a year, via teleconference. The group will oversee other Rehab related projects which are being delivered by Visionary and its stakeholders. The group have previously been involved in the Making Rehab Work pilot which set out to determine what levels of rehabilitative
support could be provided by non rehab qualified individuals. We are looking for members who have a specific interest in outcome measurement around rehabilitation. If you are interested please contact us

Work begins to establish new organisation for the eye health and sight loss sector
Preparations are under way for the official launch of Vision UK in 2018.
Vision UK will work in collaboration with partners across the eye health and sight loss sector to deliver positive change for blind and partially sighted people.
